If the question was "Is Israel justified in its mass murder?" and the results were the same, you'd think it was a great "pole."

It's a lost battle, they've already convinced everyone that "shall not be infringed" means you can ban machine guns, "assault weapons" and weapons over .50 cal.

It's funny. the correct answer is NO.

the bill of rights doesn't give you any rights.

It only prevents the government from infringing on the rights you already had. The ones that were given to you by God.

Even Obama would answer "yes" to this poll question.

The next question should be:

How do you define "the right to bear arms"?

If it's a lost battle why don't you go crawl under a rock somewhere?

I for one will NEVER give up the battle to protect my freedoms.

"The price of liberty is eternal vigilance."

Yes, there's a lot wrong with this country but it can be turned around, gradually.

People die every 70 years or so. The new generation comes in with whatever beliefs the older generations instill in them.

What kind of example are you giving by saying the battle is already lost?

Yeah, but when the right of an individual to bear arms starts being blitzkrieged, people will have to do more than vote in a poll, and their not up to it, they'll just sit and take it like everything else.

Great point.
Unfortunately we, as a people, have lost the true definition of rights and under which authority they are granted.

The government was conceived by,of and for the people. It was constructed to be the servant of the people.

Right. A meaningless question. 96% of that 97 would probably vote that some sort of restriction is ok. For our and safety and good of course.

I think it was George Carlin who said,"you have no rights, just privileges, that can be taken away at anytime". One way or another they'll keep at this disarmament crap unless the people put a stop to it. Wanna see where gun control gets you, look north to you're little sibling, Canada. They've pretty much disarmed us. Don't give them an inch!

As Goldwampum said, the question is pointless.

It's like asking if the 1st Amendment gives people "freedom of speech".

The real question lies in defining the terminology. What does "freedom of speech mean"? Is it absolute freedom? Do you have the freedom to threaten the President? Do you have freedom to incite a riot?

These restrictions were not written into the Bill of Rights, but we have them today, backed by the support of the majority.

The "right to bear arms" is no different. Is it an absolute right? Most people (including those who voted "yes" in this poll) would say 'no'.

And that is why this poll is utterly pointless. These results mean nothing other than the fact that 97% of those who participated can comprehend the English language.
